Terry Horbury

Terry Horbury was a bass guitarist, born in Newark-on-Trent in 1950, who maintained a music career throughout his life. He formed his first group in 1967 while at art college in Nottingham (I think). In 1969 he formed Barracuda who were firstly a three piece Dave Eppel (guitar), Steve Harris (drums) and Terry but later were extended to a five piece with a different line up. Read about them here. After a short spell with Rockets who featured Steve Harris (previously with Woody Kern and Whichwhat), Wayne Ford (previously with Whichwhat, Our Young and The Mysteries) and Bruno Brunning (previously with Barracuda and later would work with The Cure), Terry joined the newly formed Dirty Tricks who released three albums on Polydor in the mid seventies. He became better known in the eighties particularly with NWOBHM band Vardis but also playing alongside the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Nico McBain of Iron Maiden fame.
