Yew Tree Farm Studio

This studio was built and run by Pete Tattersall from Nottingham. Many local acts were recorded here from the late 70’s through to the late 1990’s. Alongside him for a time was Rob Hodgkinson.

(Not to be confused with the Pete Tattersall, former road manager for Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas who bought the Inter-City Studios and renamed it Strawberry studio in 1968 which became famed for the early work of 10cc).

Pete Tattersall from Carlton, Nottingham had been in many Nottingham based groups from the 60’s through to about 1975 when he finished up with a solo career playing the Bailey circuit up north.

He had amassed various equipment which was stacked up at the family home. Looking for a place to use this equipment and the studio know how he had picked up over his career he found a building in Beckingham, Notts called Yew Tree Farm. Beckingham is 3 miles west of Gainsborough and about 10 miles north of Newark.

The property was bought at an auction in 1975.
