Nottingham group circa 1968-71

John (Chambo) Chambers: Bass
Clive Lynch: Vocals
Mick Vaughan: Guitar
John Raynor: Drums.

They had been “Little Lambs of the World” and then “Lambs of the World” before changing their name to ‘The Tiddleywinks’ in 1968.

Some of the group and fellow musicians of the era reminisced on facebook in 2022 and gives a glimpse into the type of band they were. The two photos were from there to.

Pete Sheridan: Followed them right from Little Lambs Of The World through to Infant…………..great band (very loud). I can remember Chambo teaching me some bass runs and blowing the speaker in my cab. Great days.

Graham Wyvill: I remember a gig in Derby for Rolls Royce in 1969. There were 10 bands on with only a short time allotted to each. Most, including us, played run-of-the-mill Pop songs. Tiddlywinks came on and broke the mould, absolutely smashing it with Led Zeppelin and thunderous rock songs. My jaw dropped. I’d had such a sheltered life before that moment. 

Alan Westby: Graham Wyvill, I was there also Graham..they kicked off with, communication breakdown!..killer sound.

Andy Murden: I remember seeing them at Cat n Fiddle Ilkeston. Front man Clive up on the tables waving his Notts County scarf. Happy days! 

Clive left the group and moved into the world of entertainment performing as solo artiste Carrington Brookes. John, Mick and John added two new musicians and they became ‘Infant’. Mick Vaughan would later become a member of Paper Lace and John Rayner played in Billy Fury’s Backing band The Tornadoes.
