Nottingham or maybe Melton or Loughborough group 1963/64

The Paladins Rhythm Group featuring Star Vocalist Stuart Shayne and Will Trevalle on Electric Organ. They were with the Paramount Agency of Loughborough.

It was common place in the early sixties for groups to share the same name up and down the country and unless a certain group was to travel out of their area or another became a little more known they would often remain unaware of each others existence. There was another group of the same name from Liverpool in 1964 and maybe another one in Scotland too in 1963.

The Paladins played around the Nottingham and Leicestershire area. In Nottingham they played at the Wembley Club on Sneinton Dale, Gedling Miners Welfare and the Brit Club by the River Trent among many others. Groups they would have brushed shoulders with included The Jaybirds with Alvin Lee and Leo Lyons, Ivan Jaye and the Jaycats (after Ivan Jaye had split with Alvin Lee, Bobby St John who fronted The Beatmen for a short few months and the ever present Reg Guest Trio.
