Stuart was born in 1938 as Wilfred Pierce. He was a pit boy at Annesley Woodhouse before striking out into the clubland circuit. He became a British country singer and secured a deal with E.M.I.

In 1968 he recorded a single on the local “Sherwood Records” which was run by Colin Horton. One song was written by Fay Grace, a Derbyshire housewife, called “Nottingham City”. The B side was his own composition called “Don’t Say Goodbye”.
He had a successful career which I will look into at a later date.
