Steve & the Straycats
From Nottingham, some members went on to form Sons & Lovers. Played at the Dungeon on several occasions, including as support for the Kinks, but these are not documented.

Steve and the Straykats formed in 1963 in Nottingham, with Steve Greenfield on lead vocals (b. Stephen John Greenfield, Tuesday, August 26, 1947, 3 Highcliffe, Sneinton Dale, south east Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England) and Eddie Cooke on bass, vocals (b. Edward Alan Cooke, Friday, May 24, 1946, Ruddington Village, Nottinghamshire, England d. Sunday, June 10, 2012, Nottingham City Hospital, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England). The rest of the band was Bob Rowe on lead guitar (b. Robert Rowe, 1946, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, England), Sid Duffield on rhythm guitar (b. Sidney Duffield, 1945, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, England) and Kerry Robinson on drums (b. 1945, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, England).
Greenfield, Cooke and Spike Cowlard (b. Robin Cowlard, July 1946, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England), had all been to Ruddington Secondary Modern School together, Cooke and Cowlard were in the year above Greenfield.
In 1965 Greenfield joined The Incrowd. Cooke went to Volume 4.
