Reg Wale

From a “Beat Instrumentals” magazine, 1967, an article about a session man. Reg Wale born in Nottingham started playing piano at four, did music hall for five years, made broadcasts by 1940, played around the world and played sessions for an impressive role of artists including Winifred Atwell, Val Doonican and Tom Jones.

Reg Wale (b. Reginald George Wale, Friday, March 6, 1925, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England) played in The Frank Barber Percussion Ensemble, The Reg Wale Group and The Reg Wale Quintet.

Wale was a percussionist, who also wrote library music, much of it for Music De Wolfe. His most well known composition is Fruity Flute, also used as the theme tune to the 1970s/1980s UK TV programme Farmhouse Kitchen.
