Raw Meat were part of the early blues rock groups in Nottingham who all met under the banner of “Blues Train” a blues and folk night started at the Bodega in 1967 but moving to the Milton’s Head cellar for a couple of years before the building was pulled down to build the new Victoria Centre flats. Raw Meat supported Cream at Nottingham Tech College on Feb 2nd 1968. Mick Anson (sometimes Cranson or Hanson) had been in “The Mysteries” & “Mothers Worry“. Irv Pension had been in the early line up of Robert Hirst and the Big Taste. After Raw Meat Tony Crosby then joined Tim Disney’s Red House Blues Band. If Mike Winfield is indeed Mike Wingfield then he joined Flavour, a more clubland oriented group.

Cream played Technical College, Nottingham, East Midlands. BAND LINEUP: Eric Clapton – Guitar / Vocals, Jack Bruce – Bass / Vocals, Ginger Baker – Drums. A Jack Bruce gig list has “Feb. 2/68 ‘Technical College’ Nottingham, England (with Thatch)”.
Who “Thatch” are I don’t know. Possible it’s Raw Meat under another name or they just didn’t feature on the advertising.
