Nottingham group October 1977 – May 1979
Pancho were formed out of the ashes of Nottingham group Cisco, who for four years, had been entertaining the crowds far and wide but particularly at their home base of “The Imperial” on St James’s Street. Cisco had been the brainchild of guitarist Dave Sharpe, and when he decided to leave, the rest of the band thought it was appropriate to change the name. Pancho lasted two years until May 1979 the three remaining members joined with a six piece group called “Cherry” to form “Cosmo”.
Read here about Cisco.
There was another unrelated band in 1971 in Nottingham called Pancho.
Thanks to Terry Vickerstaff for the photos, info and a few memories.
