Mansfield / Nottingham based group 1970 t0 the 1980’s
They were a Nottinghamshire group who had started out as “The Limelights” in the mid sixties performing mainly “Shadows” style instrumental music in the clubs of the East Midlands but also touring Europe.
In the early seventies they became just “Limelight” and gradually found a heavy rock sound that by the early eighties sat well in the NWOBHM scene. However, they were able to straddle the worlds of the rock venue with the working men’s clubs that they had become well known in and continued to enjoy good favour in both worlds.
