Keith Paice

Piano player in various Nottingham Big Bands from the 1930’s to the 1960’s. Keith was the father of Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice.

Pianist with:

Rube Sunshine (late 1930’s + or maybe 1940s)
Keith Paice and his Band (1939)
The Blue-Rockets (1940’s)
The Keith Paice Sextet (1948)
Jack Price and his Lidonaires (1949+)

(1951 Keith went abroad)
George Melachrino’s Orchestra (1950’s)
Solo (1960s)
(Sometimes with young Ian Paice)

In 1951 Keith and his family including three year old Ian Paice moved abroad when Keith got work there. When they returned to Britain later in the fifties they settled in Bicester, near Oxford.

I’m unsure whether Keith was in Rube Sunshine in his formative days or later in the forties.
