Nottingham rock band 1976-78
Barry Foster: Guitar, Vocals
Paul Richards: Drums
Mart Skinner: Keyboards, Vocals
Roy Blackwell: Lead Vocals
Chris Wagstaff: Bass, Vocals
Formed in 1976 by three of ‘Wheels‘, Barry Foster, Paul Richards and Mart Skinner with the addition of two new members to make a five piece.
Another reason for changing the name might have been the appearance of another band called “Wheels” on the clubland circuit and rock band Wheels where missing out on gigs because of the confusion.
They did a Radio Session circa 1976-77 recording four tracks.

Andy Chocs also has recordings of Early Bird from Rainbow studios.
After the demise of Early Bird, Barry Foster would form a four piece band in 1979 with former Wheels member Graham Evans, Steve Otter formerly of Desperate Dann and guitarist Tony Crosby called ‘Agents’, backing former New Seekers man Peter Doyle. Tony would soon leave and they became a three piece.
