Le Devotees

Nottingham trad jazz band based in Beeston.

Les Devotees at the Tally Ho, Bakersfield, Nottingham in the mid seventies.

Starting as far back as maybe the late fifties and certainly in the sixties and seventies they are described by Chulla on Nottstalgia so:

“Another local band, from the Beeston area, were Le Devotees, who played in the New Orleans style – they had a great singer, Di Seagrave?; she had a strong powerful voice”.

The photograph is from Barry Adkin on redbubble describing them so:

“‘LES DEVOTEES’ by Barry Adkin. jazz band of repute playing at tally ho public house nottingham mid seventies”. The Tally Ho is on Oakdale Road, Bakersfield, Nottingham.

and from the “Who’s Who of British Jazz: 2nd Edition p84” is a mention in the bio of a former member Richard Cook.
