Born Graham Anthony Barnes (19 December 1944 – 6 March 2013) Alvin was an singer, songwriter, and guitarist and best known as the lead vocalist and lead guitarist of the blues rock band Ten Years After. A hero of Woodstock and still remembered today he is without doubt the biggest rock icon to have appeared from Nottingham.

For the time being this page is just going to be used for reference, dates and other key points as I gradually put the story together of Alvin, The Jaybirds, Ten Years After and his solo career.
