Nottingham group 1978-79

Line up:
Vaughan Wilkinson: Bass
Paul Hartshorne: Guitar
Steve Daley: Keyboards
Phil: Drums
Formed by Vaughan Wilkinson and Paul Hartshorne with keyboard player Steve Daley. Steve was an original member of The Press which he left to form The Features. The Press would eventually morph into Medium Medium and Paul and Vaughan joined Micky Dawson to form The Drug Squad.
Vaughan remembers:
‘The drummer’s name was Phil, I don’t remember his surname. His dad owned a small lawn mower shop in Sherwood virtually next door to the Robin Hood pub in the seventies. He was a good drummer but if I remember right he sort of lost interest in the band and left‘.
‘Wheels (Nottingham group) were formed around the time I was with Barry Foster and Paul Richard at High Pavement. They were a couple of years older than me but I remember the buzz going round about their band. Paul’s cousin, a lad named Nigel Lambert who was in our year was also a drummer and also formed a band at school. I can’t remember the name and I think they just played a gig at school and never ventured further‘.
The Features recorded a tape at Sin City Studios with Byron Sacorafos.
