Whoever uploaded the information for this record on 45cat has named the songs although they are not mentioned on the label. “Nottingham Sound Services” is “Notingham Sound Studio”, a studio built and run by Colin Horton in Aspley, Nottingham in the mid sixties. Nothing more is known about the artist Billie Lodge.
The two songs have links to Ireland, “Hear My Song, Violetta” sung by Josef Locke (Irish tenor singer) and “Danny Boy”, although lyrics written by Englishman Frederic Weatherly, is sung to an old Irish tune, so maybe Billie Lodge was an Irish singer on the club circuit around Notts in the mid sixties.
